How does the ATS score work?

We score your resume the way a real applicant-tracking system reads it — whether the parser can find your sections, dates, contact details, and job titles, and whether the layout stays machine-readable. The score is a whole percentage with a plain band: 80 or above is Excellent, 60–79 is Good, below 60 is Needs Improvement. Alongside the number you get specific, actionable fixes, not just a grade.

Is the ATS score a guarantee I’ll get an interview?

No — and we won’t pretend otherwise. The score measures how cleanly a parser can read your resume, which is a real hurdle many good candidates fail on. It can’t judge whether you’re the right fit for a specific role. A high score means the machine won’t reject you on formatting; the rest is your experience and the human who reads it.

Question 3

What is an AI credit, and what does each action cost?

A credit is one unit of AI work, weighted by what actually runs. Rewriting a bullet, generating a summary, or expanding a line costs 1. Tailoring a whole resume to a job description costs 3, because it runs two passes over your document. Importing and parsing a resume costs 2. Extracting keywords from a job posting is free, so you can explore a role before spending anything. Every AI button shows its cost before you press it.

Do unused credits roll over each month?

Accepted Answer

No. Credits reset at the start of each month — you start fresh, with nothing to budget across months. The Free plan includes 10 credits a month; Pro includes 300.

Question 5

Will my downloads have a watermark?

Accepted Answer

Free downloads carry a small “Made with OpusStride” line in the footer. Upgrading to Pro removes it from every format — PDF, DOCX, and TXT. The watermark is decided at export time based on your plan, so it’s the same across formats.

Can I use Premium templates on the Free plan?

Accepted Answer

Yes — you can preview and build with any template, Premium included, so you can find out whether it suits you. Downloading a Premium template needs Pro. If you’d rather not upgrade, switch to a free template and your content transfers exactly as it is.

Question 7

What’s the difference between a resume and a CV here?

Accepted Answer

It depends on where you’re applying. In Canada and the US, “resume” means a concise, one-to-two-page document. In the UK, Europe, and much of the Commonwealth, “CV” is the everyday term for that same document (not the long academic CV). Our library is organized by region so you get the right length, sections, and terminology by default — a UK CV template, a Europass-style European CV, an Australian resume, and so on.

Do your templates handle regional conventions?

Yes — that’s the point of a region-matched library. US and Canadian templates default to US Letter; UK, European, and Australia & New Zealand templates default to A4. Photo expectations differ too: North American and UK resumes omit a photo, while some European templates support one where it’s customary. Credential blocks (professional registration numbers, right-to-work, language proficiency with CEFR levels for the EU) and date formats are set to what each market expects. You can override page size and other options per resume.

Should I put a photo on my resume?

For Canada, the US, and the UK: no. Hiring norms and anti-discrimination practice mean photos, dates of birth, and similar personal details are left off, and each template reflects that. In parts of Europe a photo is still customary, so those templates support one with guidance. When a template discourages a photo, it tells you why.

Can I import my existing resume?

Yes. Upload a PDF or DOCX and we extract the text and parse it into an editable draft — sections, jobs, dates, and skills — for you to review before anything is saved. Scanned or image-only PDFs aren’t supported yet, because there’s no text to read; you’ll get a clear message if that’s the case.

What happens to a resume I upload to import?

We never store the uploaded file. We extract its text, hold that text only long enough to parse it, and clear the text the moment the job finishes — success or failure. The parsed draft is yours to review, and nothing becomes a saved resume until you confirm.

Question 12

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Deletion is permanent and thorough. We purge your exported files from storage, cancel any active subscription immediately, and delete your account and every resume, cover letter, and version tied to it. There’s no soft-delete holding pen. You can also export a full copy of your data first, from Settings.

Question 13

Does the AI ever rewrite my resume without asking?

Accepted Answer

Never. Every AI suggestion — a rewritten bullet, a generated summary, a tailoring edit — is shown to you first. You choose to apply, regenerate, or discard it. When you tailor to a job description, each proposed edit is checked against your actual content, so the AI can’t invent experience you don’t have. You always stay in control.

Question 14

How do payments and refunds work?

Checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider and merchant of record — they accept major cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, and handle local sales tax and VAT, so we never see your card details. You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing and keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
